INTRODUCTION
Norfolk & Norwich Advanced Motorists Group is not a driving school with paid instructors. It is a group of over 700 advanced driving enthusiasts.
There are over 200 other groups in the country, all affiliated to the Institute of Advanced Motorists, a road safety organisation that believes the way to reduce road accidents is to improve driving standards. It does this by offering to experienced drivers through it's voluntary local groups, advanced driving courses leading to the IAM Advanced Driving Test.
The
Young Driver Courses are run by group members called "Observers", who
are qualified to pass on their expertise to those on our Advanced Driving
Courses and the Young Driver Courses.

SO WHAT DO YOU LEARN?
Statistics
prove that those who have taken advanced driving courses, have a much-reduced
chance of being involved in accidents. Last government statistics put
the reduction at 75%. Our courses therefore, give an introduction to the
safe advanced driving techniques, used in our advanced driving programme.
Road Traffic Police Officers join each course on one morning, and give
demonstration drives. Many young drivers have a problem recognising hazards
or potential hazards, and in anticipating the problems that can occur.
Our courses cover the IAM way of dealing with this problem.
