Q    How long will it take me to pass the advanced driving test?
Dependant upon your skills and experience when you join the group and how much opportunity you get to practice in
between Observed drives/rides, you could be at advanced test standard after just 6 drives but the average is between 8 and 12 one & a half hour sessions.

Q    How much does each lesson cost?
Once you have joined the group, all Observed drives ("lessons") are free for cars and approximately £10 per run for bikes..

Q    I work an irregular shift pattern or have other commitments that mean I cannot always make a set time each week for the Observed drives/rides.
A    The timing of the Observed drives/rides is arranged directly between you and the Observer for a mutually convenient time. If your assigned Observer is unable to meet at times suitable to you, the group would look to re-assign you to another observer. It is important however, that you understand that passing your advanced driving test is a serious business that will require your commitment to the time necessary. All of the groups Observers are volunteers who give their time free of charge.

Q    I am a very experienced driver/rider and doubt I could learn anything from the group.
A    The group certainly welcomes all drivers/riders and we would hope that your experience should enable you to achieve advanced test standard more quickly than some others. Within the groups ranks, we have qualified driving instructors, HGV drivers, even a bus driving instructor! Our experience is that no matter how good or how experienced a new Associate might be when joining the group, they have all learned a lot and agreed that their standard of driving has improved further.
