- WIGGLEROUNDABOUT
If I had a pound for every friend and colleague who has mentioned the WiggleRoundAbout
this week then I would have enough money for a small holiday.
How many roundabouts have you driven round recently where you are "asked" to steer left
to avoid driving over a patch of paint put down by "what looks like" a mad infectious
giggling baboon with a paint fetish?
How many roundabouts have you driven round recently where the road names don't actually
match up with the road you are on?
How many roundabouts have you driven round recently where you are pushed into the outside
lane to turn right and pass two other junctions in the left lane?
How many roundabouts have you driven round recently where nobody seems to know what they
are supposed to do?
So you haven't been round Bowthorpe roundabout recently then?
Let me explain.
Last week I was told some vandals removed all the white paint from the road surface on the
pproaches to the Bowthorpe roundabout.
Earlier this week it seems some more vandals have put their trade mark white lines all over
the place.
I have thought about contacting the police to complain about the graffiti but some
colleagues have tried to convince me that the painting is actually genuine. I think I
need a little more convincing though.
So, if you want a laugh, or a dent in your car, try visiting Bowthorpe! lol.
My advise on the roundabout is:
You are on the A1074 - not the A47.
The hatched areas in the middle of the roundabout are a joke.
Ignoring the lane marking is the best thing to do if turning right.
Give way to everyone as nobody seems to know what they are doing.
